Aboriginal Enterprise Expo

To launch the City of Melbourne’s Aboriginal Procurement Strategy we worked with Supply Nation to deliver an Aboriginal Enterprise Expo. The event at the Melbourne Town Hall was designed to showcase the diversity of Aboriginal entrepreneurship to City of Melbourne staff and staff from their partner organisations.

Businesses in attendance included Greenaway Architects, Complete Workwear and Mailman Law as well as niche catering companies and beauty lines that use Indigenous ingredients, artists who create custom corporate gifts and Aboriginal meditation practise Wayapa.

At Kalinya we specialise in creating an atmosphere that reflects the local community. For the Aboriginal Enterprise Expo we had a custom projection created by Dixon Patten for projection on the icon Melbourne Town Hall Grand Organ. The organ, which was built in 1929 and contains almost ten thousand pipes across three Town Hall levels, came alive with Dixon’s vibrant patterning. Fashion designer Lyn-Al Young styled local Aboriginal models in her custom outfits, and they greeted guests upon entrance in Woi Wurrung, the language of the local custodians.
